Triathlon Ingolstadt

Yesterday I was actually able to contest the first triathlon of the season, no rain, no duathlon, no, a real triathlon with swimming in Lake Ingolstadt 🙂

Long race, short story: top competition and organization, great weather and highly recommended race, what more could you want? Placement: 12 in 3:46 hours

Swimming was ok, but nothing more. Here I still have to make significant gains until Roth. Just a minute faster and I would have been in the top 10 pack including the first two women. The route in Ingolstadt is flat, which is why it is difficult to drive away. Well, I don't want to blame anyone, but the group never drove cleanly. Perhaps it was also because there was a single referee on the track. So be it, sponge over it.

My cycling was really cool, because you could push pretty much the whole time, and that's what I like about the time trial. To hear the wind around your ears and the rustling of the windshield. In the end it was almost a 41 cut, which wasn't that bad for my diesel engine. I felt great when running, maybe too well, because I could easily have run two more laps.

This is exactly where the dog is buried. I've had a bombshell base from regular training over the past few weeks and months, but the pace is still lacking. Thirty minutes after the finish I could have started all over again. Today I don't notice anything and really don't have to force myself to do any training. In plain language, that means for me to increase the intensities again from tomorrow and to work almost exclusively on the speed and tempo. It has to really ignite again after 2-3 weeks, otherwise it will be very difficult to implement my racing vision in Roth.

bang in!
