Training last week

Except for the two competitions on the weekend, no special incidents. On Sunday evening, however, we had a great lecture at home. As already presented recently, Prof. Werner Seebauer gave a lecture on the subject: Nutrition in high-performance sport. Extremely interesting! Soon there will be a short summary here.

I would never write something like this down for my athletes, but I like to try new things myself. Yesterday I tested myself on the muscular load of the final marathon. After the double start on Saturday / Sunday, I ran my long 30km run on Monday evening. After about 20km I felt like I was about to cross the finish line in Roth, that is, my thighs and calves were really tight and I was walking on wood. It is interesting that it is not the aerobic stress that bothered us on the long distance, on the contrary, I felt like I was jogging in the park, but the muscular stress. Especially during the final run!

You shouldn't forget that in your training strategy. However, I do not recommend long runs straight after competitions like yesterday. You can also simulate such a load by building longer climbs into your long run, after 1:30 hours at the latest you are muscular as far as if you had run 30km flat.
