Rothsee

I've been training at Rothsee so often lately that I should think about buying a house there. The boat harbor could hire me as a kind of caretaker. Every morning I would first swim off all the buoys and check their condition 😉 Of course also the far away ones on the other side of the lake, that would easily add up to 3-4km per day ... Michael Phelps would have to dress warmly soon 🙂

But it's not that far yet. The weekend was characterized by quite tough units. On Friday I had to run during the lunch break, including 6x1000m at 3: 15-3: 20, although I was more at the upper limit 😉
After work a short nap and then on the bike, briefly retract and 5x5km full throttle! After these two sessions, my thigh circumference felt two inches bigger.

On Saturday morning we went to Rothsee with Thomas, Thorsten and his mate. After half an hour of neo-swimming we got down to business. A challenge lap (85km) was on the program. Because of my intervals the day before, I felt a bit queasy. The goal was to drive the Challenge lap at approximate IM competition pace.

Before we knew it, Thomas (equipped with a disc and aero helmet) fell like a bastard! After the last time he hung up after about 30km a few weeks ago (you have to note that we always drive with about 20m-30m distance), I wanted to know this time mal

At 15 km I drove up and passed on the mountain. But he has his strengths on the straights. Bit by bit I expanded my lead to 500m. Shortly before Greding, the average speed was already beyond 38 km / h, I saw him pull up again. I recovered briefly, drank from the bottle and dutifully ate my Corny bar and let it open. We talked briefly and the mountain came in Greding. As already mentioned at the beginning, I saw my chance here again, and with a courageous start I gave Thomas up again. An inconspicuous look back told me that the distance was big enough this time. In the meantime, half of the route was already done and the plan was to cycle quickly but in a controlled manner to the end. I'll spare you the details of the next 20km. It only got interesting again shortly before the Solarer Berg. Who did I see suddenly appear behind me like "Phoenix from the ashes"? Thomas drove up again! The boy didn't give up.

Fortunately, however, he couldn't get close and I was able to return to the starting point of our tour unmolested. 2:15 hours later, I turned back into the parking lot. A look at the display revealed the D-pulse of 155 and an average of just over 37 km / h. Well, the pulse was about 3-4 beats higher than planned in Roth 🙂

I longed for a little rest and began to comfortably load my bike back into the car, as soon as Thomas turned into the parking lot with his cycling shoes already off, made a flying change and immediately went on the 11.5km long running route. Now I had to hurry up a bit, I couldn't give him more than 7-8 minutes lead. In the meantime Thorsten had turned in and also started running before me, but on a different lap. Reluctantly, I finally started walking. After that, it would finally be over for today! After 6km I suddenly saw Thomas in front of me, who had to leave for a while, perhaps because he had taken over something and forgot to drink. After almost 48 minutes the ordeal was over and I immediately poured half a liter of cola, 2-3 muesli bars and my (nice) warm protein drink ... uh

After a short stop at McD's, where I left my remaining money, I drove to Bennie's and we sat down in the cafe around ours Book project to discuss. After I had already bought another bottle of cola from him at home, he also felt compelled to invite me to baked goods worth a few euros. Apparently I looked pretty knocked out 🙂

Here briefly advertising on their own behalf !! If you want to read something very interesting and at the same time funny about the Christmas holidays and even do endurance sports / triathlons, then make a note of our book!
In the spomedis publishing house (which also publish the regular “Triathlon” and “Triathlon Training”), a book by Bennie Lindberg and yours truly will appear before Christmas. More about that soon ...

Sunday was marked by some strength training, an hour of running and watching the ITU competition on ZDF. After Maik Petzold crossed the finish line in third place, I was so motivated that I also had to go swimming in the evening 😉

skin in!

krelli!

PS: the last form test, the Rothsee Triathlon, is on the program on Sunday!

  1. Hello Krelli,
we are looking forward to your book! Christmas won't be boring.
Thank you for the lovely card and the cute headscarf. Paula looks really cute in it, but has to grow in a little more. Train well and see you soon,

    Tobi

  2. Hi Tobi,

I'm happy that the hat fits 😉 We saw it purely for aerodynamic reasons, a wool hat with a tip is rather unfavorable ... haha

So, less than 1 week of training and then I can finally go down. Are you actually still starting the Challenge?

    dig in

    Michael

  3. Moin from Ratzeburg 🙂

Nee Tobi won't start in the challenge, but we'll be there and cheer you on. Tobi starts for this in Cologne. Let's see how it works, the deadline simply suited us better. We are in Bamberg the week before Roth. Do you think we can have a coffee there? Paula wants to get to know you

    best regards

    Judith
