Mail from Thomas in Hawaii

Here is a nice letter from Thomas Hofmann from Kona. This year's Run & Bike winner immediately secured the qualification on his debut at IM Regensburg and has been hanging around Kona for a few days now. All of our Nuremberg hopes rest on you, so don't give a shit !!! Such as. his neighbor here in the picture on the right. In the middle / end of the 90s, Hannes actually did another 30 or 20 hours of training in the lava desert in the two weeks before the race, he was already on the island. Strangely, and for inexplicable reasons, he was flat on race day! 😉 Hannes doesn't hold that against me, he learned from it and then later put on much better races.

Aloha,

do not worry, should be the only circular mail, except ...
... unless you are dying for more ... (Editor's note yes Thomas, we are thirsty)

Arrival Hawaii:
Full-throttle sprint across the airport in Chicago - connecting flight so tight that the dear Americans really have fun with it - but I made it - bitterly only thanks to the help of a Swiss woman from Baenk. (What did she do, you "lubricated" the way through customs and control ?? 🙂

I strongly advise against US Airways. Food is to eat ... and the service is even worse than from Lufthansa. (mhh, ok note added)

Michael G. (professional triathlon) picked me up from the airport in Hawaii. He can cook a little and he doesn't snore either - everything is palette in the flat share. (But Thomas, I'll be written with K., oh the Göhner you mean 😉

Sporty:
- Conditions here a dream
- Problem: the professionals depend heavily on me in all three sports - except for the torso stabilization I can keep my distance ... was consequently promoted to the women - whereupon I adjust my units and now swim, cycle and run most of the time ...

Swim:
A 4m tiger shark attacked a surfer here last week. Then I swam in the outdoor pool for the first 4 days. It's free here - a real outdoor pool. (Thomas, they just want to play ... I was once in the midst of a pack of bloodthirsty, man-eating ... well, let's leave that)

When I finally got into the sea, I saw a fin at 800m  (Snorkeler ??)... I got shit and swam home ...
I later learned that up-and-down fins - are dolphins
Shark fins stay on the surface and come towards you if they think you are a turtle ... (So don’t wear green unless you’re a Teenage Mutant Hero Turtle !!!) ... that was the surfer's problem

Yesterday I was out in the sea again and I was LUCKY: a herd of dolphins liked my swimming style and from me the honor to chat with them - sensational (mmhh ... I imagine it to be interesting how you had a chat with them)

Everything is tattooed here. I'll do it now too ... give me suggestions as to what should I be taetoved?
(yes, this one fits the topic, hilarious !!! Just choose one, then you will always have space in the cinema 🙂

Lining:
Mango and co are sensational, bananas are still small and crooked, oranges taste like orange, the rest is really bitter. I'm looking forward to Hotel Mama again
There is already beer in Hawaii - I haven't found Oettinger yet ...(You can not be serious!)

At the moment I can't imagine how you can do an Ironman with the conditions here
it's really brutal out in the lava desert

the wind really hammmmmmmmer the width

I won the race against the jetleg
at 9pm at the latest the lights go out for me

Mom: I brush my teeth twice a day

Norman Stadler is coming tomorrow, he won't be participating this year, maybe I'll convince him that he'll cheer me on

aloha

Your
Thomas
(live inside the tsunami evacuation zone)
