Although the sun is shining today, -9 degrees are too cold to cycle even for an Eskimo like me. Yesterday I tried it at similar temperatures and had to admit to myself after 1.5 hours that it didn't make any sense. The training effect was zero, the only energy I used up was to keep my shivering body alive.
So today there is a small change of plan, in the afternoon I will simply prefer my long run. That should be possible even at these temperatures 🙂
In my constant endeavor to offer my readership, which has now grown somewhat (in December this page had almost 1,500 clicks), added value;), I have decided to publish my training logbook regularly from now on.
You can see the first attempt above. I certainly still have to work on the way it is presented. Displayed, you can see my units from the beginning of January until this Sunday (added).
I keep hearing complaints about two types of triathletes. The first species actually NEVER trains, according to actual statements! They always have something tweaking before competitions and they are never really fit at the start. But as if by a miracle, they are always in a great mood and run around your ears. So the training has to come from somewhere 🙂
According to their own statements, the second species trains what it takes. No piece of road, forest path or tiled track is safe from them! After the competition, however, they are never at a loss for an excuse as to why the performance didn't hit like a bomb after all.
In order to avoid these discussions, but also not to be accused of the "secret training", I now post my training sessions from time to time. Maybe one or the other is interested in how I intend to attack my best time in the summer. In the first week (1st Saturday to 2nd Saturday) I had a day off, THIS WORK IS NOT THE RULE. It's a shame, actually 🙂
The plan is a mishmash of Denglish (I once copied from an English-language book) and otherwise quite self-explanatory. The colors of the units stand for the intensities, the total / km of the units are noted on the right and the times on the left. After countless attempts, I made such an Excel sheet that I summarized everything at the push of a button. Not easy…
As you can see, I'm a good triathlete at the moment and mainly train on the basics. As it should be for the season 😉
If you use other types of training data display that you think is better than mine, I am grateful for tips and new suggestions ...
Many greetings

PS: it will be warmer again soon :)))
Hello,
I think it's great that you want to put in the training plans. Possibly. can I learn something.
I drove this morning at -12 ° C for almost 1:30 h and it went amazingly well. We just drove too slowly on Friday and by moving our fingers and teeth regularly it was okay.
Greetings,
Ivan
Hi Ivan,
I also think that we were just too lame 🙂 Today I was also mountain biking, it was really great, through the forest and snow ...
Don't look too much, just start with technology!
dig in!

Hi big guy
I think that's great about the training plans! There is always a great wind because nobody wants to show that they are training. I claim that they are pure self-doubters who just need an excuse when things don't go so well in the competition (“I couldn't do that much ...”) and when things go well “ou man, if I had decent can train ... ". This kind of thing "pisses" me personally, because nothing comes from anything, then people should just shut up!
Keep it up ... and the 8: xx is there! 🙂
greetings
Thorsten
Hi Thorsten,
What more can I say. True words! There are no excuses.
PS: I especially like the part with the 8 😉
