After nine months of involuntary break, the time is now slowly beginning when I have to think about how to continue my sport. But since this is wasted time without the right goals, I am now registered for the Challenge Roth 2011. If swimming works well again after the operation, then nothing stands in the way of my training for the next year. And should we even have a mild winter again, I could also imagine starting somewhere early in the season.
I've been doing the sport since the end of 2005, a big advantage of this is that I slowly know which training works for me and which doesn't. Hopefully this will eliminate the mistakes of the past right from the start.
If I look at Roth's performance in 2009, on which I really had a good day, then the following presents itself to me:
Swimming: 56 minutes
I think there is still something going on, swimming has always been extremely strong for me, with my first LD in 2006 I swam almost as fast, when I was 5! Times a week in the studio 😉 So then I just hit the water. I should finally put more emphasis on the right technique, then maybe I could swim another 53 or 52 minutes at some point.
Cycling: 4:42 hours
It's similar here, I had my best bike splits with very low cadence and a strong driving style. At that time, I had fewer kilometers in my legs than ever before, and in total there were no more than 5000km before the challenge. I don't like bike training the least, which is why I never ride for more than 5 hours at a time. I would rather press for 3 hours and then run for another hour than go on long trips. Maybe I should try to drive a little longer every now and then, but then definitely with an escort, otherwise I will turn back first 😉
So I think that under 4:40 hours should be possible again.
Run: 3:11 hours
Something has to be done here if I want to get significantly faster over the long distance, then it only works by running! Nothing helps, this then has to take place in just under 3 hours. You don't need longer runs here, just harder training!
Assuming a bike split that is not too exhausting, it should be possible to run for 3 hours or less.
In order for all of this to work, two things are required. A fast route, e.g. Roth, Klagenfurt (not Lanzarote!) And good wind and weather conditions.
How I do all of this and which units I consider important I will soon present here, and I will start again to put my training plans online. Maybe one or the other has tips ready.
So, after my vacation I'm really starting to train again, I'm looking forward to it!
Have a nice Weekend!

PS: If you are at the middle distance in Erlangen on Sunday and maybe watching too, don't forget to cheer on Andi Dreitz !! 😉
Dear Krelli,
Team Tricamp wishes you the best of luck with your new start. We will accompany your training and I am sure you will achieve your goals. We are looking forward to many training sessions together!
I think your attitude is great, that you are ready to report more precisely on your training and even put in your TP's ..
Many Tria's make a state secret out or understate "yeah, I ran a little, as always, no .." * is clear *
So I'm looking forward to your next posts & a good recovery!
Thank you, I'm happy freut
I'm hot as frit fat for my training again!
I have no problems with the training plans, I hardly train anything anyway ... laughs
