+++++ update +++++
Bennie unfortunately missed the starting place for a slot, but fortunately his sadness was limited, as he found the whole competition and the day again a really cool experience! However, it worried him a bit 😉
+++++
Yesterday I witnessed a spectacular race by the flying Belgian. Marino Vanhoenacker crossed the finish line in Klagenfurt in an amazing time of 7:52 hours. He missed the existing world record set by Luke van Lierde in 1997 at Ironman Roth by just a few seconds. The fantastic thing was that Marino was in the lead for the entire race!
Bennie's race went pretty well, no wonder with my support all day 😉 Only he had to realize that the character of the long distance competitions has changed a lot since its best days in the early 90s. He couldn't cope with the huge groups that overtook him on the bike course. He was annoyed beyond measure, then just rolled with the back, got two penalties and his bike trip was extended accordingly.
He should have managed the qualification anyway, we'll just drop by when the starting places are allocated at 1 p.m.
many greetings from the Wörthersee!

Hope it was enough. but of course the fun is gone. Let's see if I have to be angry with the Domspatzen in 4 weeks.
Good rest to Bennie
And, did Bennie get the qualification?
Unfortunately, I cannot find a corresponding result yet.
greeting

Hello Franz,
No, unfortunately not. Missed a place 🙁 But others were happy for that, it's always great to see when the award is made!
