Email of the week !!!

Hi guys,

sometimes out of boredom I occasionally read through the spam mails that sneak into my mailbox every day. Often it is the usual crap, 20kg of the weight loss pill in a week! melts, up to potency pills and co.
But there is also really rarely a screamer, which I then win for my personal Spam Award of the week! award. I received such a copy yesterday. And let's go 😉

Here in the original, but below I've added my comments 😉

Dear friend!!! (interesting, apparently my "best friend" forgot my first name)
I suspect this email will come as a surprise to you, but it is true. (why should I have such a negative attitude, should I doubt the truthfulness of a stranger who calls me a friend?)
During a routine check at my bank (Standard Bank of South Africa) where I work, I came across an unclaimed account that is currently $12,500,000 (twelve million five hundred US dollars). (hm ... that my "friend" doesn't speak German very well, you can almost overlook that, apparently it is a South African. In addition, it really has to be a reputable bank, where employees simply check the account details of your customers ... completely of the kind: "let's see what we find today ...")
This account belonged to Mr. Manfred Becker, who was a customer in our bank who unfortunately passed away. Mr. Becker was a native German. In order for me to be able to claim this $12,500,000 money, I need the cooperation of a foreign partner like you, whom I can introduce as a relative and heir of the late Mr. Becker, so that we can claim the money .
(ah, that's how the rabbit goes! Apparently it's very easy, someone flies there as “Benno Becker”, the fourth nephew of Mr. Becker and gets “zack” 12.5 million cash on the claw! Man, I see it in front of me, suddenly 5000 "relatives" show up at the bank door, they'll give one of them something ... laugh)
For this support you will receive 30% of the inheritance sum and I will share the remaining 70% with my two work colleagues, who also support me with this transaction. (You want to fool me, "two supposed work colleagues", they definitely don't even exist! ... you just want more money, you greath! We do 90/10 and if you still complain, I'll show you how fast a triathlete can disappear from a bank on foot, and that with 100% of the coal ... haha)
If you are interested, please email me so I can give you more details. Please send your answer to this e-mail address: (deleted)
With best regards
MR MARTINS WEBER DITO
What counts as a criminal offense in Germany is probably handled more loosely elsewhere 😉 But let's be honest, Apart from the fact that there are hardly any people who do not have a "humpback relationship", in such a rare case, as far as I know, the state collects the money. And if this bank alone knew that Mr. Becker has no relatives, how does the “picker” explain how he found out about Mr. Becker's death ?? ...

Such emails are of course thought out from start to finish, should someone really write a reply to this email address, they will probably be asked for an advance payment to "organize" something and then you will never hear from the supposed bank employees again ...

Truly the “spam of the week!” Actually, I should write to the gentleman and give him my award virtually 🙂
in this sense and to the coming spring, finally!

  1. Your comments are good. * grin * I really wonder what kind of people they are who fall for something like that. It has to be worth it somehow, otherwise they wouldn't do it.
I've seen similar emails before, "unfortunately" not in my inbox yet. There are people whose hobby is replying to such emails and fooling the scammers. I don't remember what the whole thing is called, but it was fun to read how the two danced around each other and how the cheater got more and more entangled and in the end fell on top of it.

  2. I also find it refreshing to read something funny "unsportsmanlike" ... it's the best proof that we triathletes don't just have sport on our minds ;-))) keep it up, I'm a big fan of your blog (and I'm happy on the book ... now it won't be long, right?!)
