Ice cold training

I had a day off yesterday. The weather was great and the sun came out, only the temperatures of -9 degrees did not exactly cause me to storm out of the apartment with the racing bike in hand.

At 10:30, however, the turning point, after the 14th YouTube video by Jan Ulrich and the complete sentence “Rocky Training Trailers”, we went out into the district, onto the asphalt.

For the first hour I couldn't keep my target pace. In order to stay halfway alive, I cycled away from the mopeds on the bike path, who looked at me in astonishment 😉 So I mean the owners of the mopeds, not the machines themselves! After the sun slowly came out everywhere I was able to reduce my pace a little and continue to drive normally. It went so well that I did an extra lap and got back home after about 4:20 hours. Too early for the happy hour at the bakery across the street (from 5 p.m. the sweets only cost half the price), so I went straight to a little paddock.

After an hour I was finally allowed to go home again and immediately stormed into the shop at 5 p.m. sharp, so that no one would snatch the last of the curd bags away from me! Then under the hot shower and a happy day came to an end :))

  1. Nice Krelli!
On Saturday I was cycling at -7 ° on the Waterkant. With a tail wind and the sun it was really pleasant, only the way back was 1 hour only head wind. The water in the drinking bottles froze for me.

Do you know that too? When you have half a block of ice in your drinking bottle?

    Greeting,
    Phil

  2. yes, it sounds familiar to me. For this reason, I don't even need half a bottle on the big circuit in winter.

If you put a thick sock over it, the water in the bottle will tend to stay liquid.

You could of course lower the freezing point with alcohol. I think a beer lasts up to -5 degrees, and the bottle of Jacky even up to -15! 😉

PS: don't try my underage readers !!!
