after Steffen's disappointing start in Florida yesterday, I still wanted to put my project into practice and ran today in the Biebertlauf. I packed my running shoes in the backpack (I should set the current date on the camera 🙂 and off we went ...
The only brave guy who should accompany me on the bike at 3Grad to Großhabersdorf was Iwan. So the two of us set off shortly before 10 o'clock, quite overslept (yesterday evening's party marathon including 5 servings of chili con carne!). Our mutual communication on the bike was just as sluggish
Half an hour before the start of the umpteenth Bibertlauf (cross-country run over 7.5km) we arrived at the scene. We changed outside in front of the small barn and spontaneously decided on the "long treadmill" 🙂
Warm up for a short 5 minutes and off we go, the starting gun was fired and first of all I looked at what the local "racing greats" were up to. After we had left those who “started much too quickly” behind us, I found myself in 6th position in a small group. A white painted Kenyan ran his laps lonely in front of us and after 3km already had a 200m lead. These first "flat" kilometers of racing were also quite brisk and I was able to level myself with a 3:20 average.
But then suddenly there was an ascent into the forest above us, about 800m it was partly strong uphill and besides the feeling that I had to throw up every second (the 4 sausage rolls and curd snail from this morning including the 5 chilli yesterday probably hit me a bit on the stomach 😉 my previously beautiful cut rose steadily. For this kilometer I lost a lot of time and also lost my place to a mountain goat from TSG Roth puffing by. When I asked how long this mountain was? he just grunted something incomprehensible.
In the meantime I have only 84kg on my ribs again, instead of my initial 87kg, but I'm still a long way from my "fighting weight" of 79kg, so the ascent was correspondingly difficult for me.
On the other hand, things really went downhill and the whole thing started to be fun. The following kilometers flew by and before I knew it, I crossed the finish line with a time of 27:17. Ivan followed completely sweaty and just behind.

On this route this time corresponded to an average of 3: 38 / km. In this sense, I am very optimistic that I am currently running a consistently flat 10 and a high 34. I'll try it when I come back from my vacation 🙂
Then we met Jörg after the run, with whom we extended our way back a little and after a total of 3:30 hours. trundled back to Nuremberg by bike.
And after we had only eaten 2 bananas after the competition and on the way back, I was afraid of falling off my bike shortly before my apartment with a hunger streak. At the thought of my empty fridge, I couldn't resist the temptation and stopped 2 minutes from home at the kebab shop I trusted ... which I then ate completely relaxed and happy in my bathtub 🙂

Hi Krelli,
but that was a really easy start into training ;-). To what extent do you want to increase by the summer? Even the 54, .. km run with an average of 4:13 min / km is very fast for the time of year in relation to your marathon time in the Ironman! By the way, I love reading your blog and I'm looking forward to the book.

Yes, ok ... Bennie is on vacation at short notice and so this week I only did what I wanted 🙂
The 17 hours come together because my girlfriend is currently writing a bachelor's thesis and is happy when I'm out of the house and she can work in peace without me constantly shooting down monsters while playing computer games ... haha
PS: there you can see what I could still run in the IM if I were to hold back on my bike!
