So, after I filled my stomach again when visiting all the relatives on Sunday in Nuremberg, the first day of the new 2011 season is now behind me.
Although I took a break from running for weeks, it feels amazingly good. Compared to last year, when I did most of my training runs in the 4:20 range / km, I am now just 15sec / km over it, that's okay. It's still forever until spring.
I still have to do a lot when cycling, where I can currently feel every kilometer I've missed 😉
I'll come for a swim today, nine months without a single meter in the pool, I dread bad things. Lifeguard get ready, I'll be back tonight and may need your quick help!
What is now important in the first few weeks and months at the beginning are above all the technical units. This includes running ABC and sprints, a round step with high frequency and one-legged cranking and water position and very short swimming intervals (max. 25-50 meters crawl at a time) so as not to mess up the technique.
In a few days I'll tell you how I fared in the first week 🙂
