The new 3-week block started last week. I usually train for three weeks at a time and then recover for about five days, and then start again on the weekend of the “rest week”. Here, however, you have to listen to yourself, if the body needs more regeneration, then I extend the period to the full seven days.
Sometimes, like last week, there are appointments that you absolutely have to keep and you can't train. When something like that comes up, I build up the training around it. In a nutshell: if I'm fine, then I blast in the days beforehand and take the appointment as a “physical” day of rest. From the head, it is usually not one 🙂 Which brings us back to the difference to the professionals. For them, the break is really a break, with us it may be that there is a full-day customer appointment or something similar on this day, so it is not really a break then. Here, however, it helps to go to bed earlier in the evening and to have slept much longer that day than usual.
