Trainer course last week

After I was in Oberhaching for the C trainer course last week, here are a few things that I took with me, roughly summarized:

The BLSV has a really cool training area and the in-house 25m pool and sauna are great! Everything is on site for training, I went swimming every morning from seven onwards.

Athletic training will keep coming. Significant increases in performance can still be achieved in this area, also for triathletes. These in particular benefit in three ways from balanced body athletics, a strong core and flexibility.

There are numerous possibilities to improve these points: strength circles, athletic and strength training (is not the same), flexi-bar, aqua fitness, sling trainer, etc. 10 minutes a day is better than just once a week and 1 hour I experienced everything first hand, and you won't laugh anymore if you have to do really strenuous aqua aerobics for 90 minutes. Afterwards, all participants first needed an hour's nap ๐Ÿ˜‰

An important point that still plays a role and that one tends to forget, especially younger athletes: These exercises also serve to prevent injuries !! There are enough sports disabled people. So if you want to be fit longer in your life, think about it.

Competitive sport is not healthy (although I already knew that, but I thought I would mention it again ๐Ÿ˜‰ Especially when you often do high intensity if you train and do not take the necessary countermeasures, e.g. ingestion of antioxidant substances in the form of plenty of vegetables and fruits, then you will probably not get very old! In other words, vegetables and fruits in large quantities, an apple a day is nowhere near enough. (That was not a point from the course, but it is still important)

Of course, your general eating habits also play a role here. In my opinion, these are responsible for 10-20% of performance. Apart from the fact that the stuff also keeps you healthy. So inform yourself about what you stuff into yourself during the day. Most of what you buy ready-made in the supermarket are empty calories with no real nutritional value. A few articles below I have given a book recommendation, which I am really convinced of and which I recommend to all interested parties for the sake of health alone.

    There is no significant study that the antioxidants added to the body have a positive effect on the human body. Have bodies - they just don't have a negative one! That means you don't do anything wrong with it, but they don't do anything either! ๐Ÿ˜‰
    So how do you come to that conclusion?

    ok, i don't know who you mean by "her", it's me ๐Ÿ™‚

    mmmhhh ... that's always the interesting thing about studies ...

    I find it fascinating how studies allegedly prove that eating fruit and vegetables in large quantities should benefit the body just as much as not consuming any fruit and vegetables at all!

    So that means I can eat 3 packs of Snickers instead of vegetables, and I'm just as healthy ??

  3. Here is another study on the subject.

    Usually these are carried out with Hinz and Kunz from the Schleckerhalle next door. I generally look around for studies with competitive athletes:

    Increase in protein oxidation at rest over 7 months in a special unit (40 subjects) of the Austrian police (Cobra).

    The supplementation of antioxidants and secondary plant substances even resulted in values being lower than the initial values
    reached. In addition, the activities of the endogenous antioxidant enzyme systems remained
    constant.

    In German: after intensive training sessions, the number of free radicals in the body increases significantly. Just google what they do besides premature aging.

    Eating vegetables and fruits prevents protein oxidation before and after high-intensity long-term exercise and permanently reduces the level of radicals in the body.

    The only reason this is being published in the media is because people want to hear it. Oh, I can eat chocolate there and then I'll finally lose my 50kg excess weight.

    The fat neighbor doesn't want to hear that he should eat healthily. Firstly, he doesn't even know what is healthy anymore, and secondly, he simply lacks discipline! It's just so โ€œexhaustingโ€ and he likes sweets much better.

    Fortunately, discipline is quite common in my sport ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Ui der Krelli is now the official C trainer? Or were you there as a supervisor?

    On the subject of nutritional myths; especially those who are trodden in the "press", the hairs on the back of my neck regularly come up!
    The worst thing about it is still the fact that it is in the "newspaper" and thus, by definition, cannot be wrong and the writers are always right. Ergo, as a half-knowing person, you can talk your mouth fluffy and will not achieve anything.

  6. So the article with the chocolate for breakfast has a somewhat lurid title, but in my opinion it goes a lot in the same direction as your post from December 17th:
    the group that eats more in the morning first feels less hungry => fewer snacks between meals
    secondly, the total number of calories was limited => eat less in the evening => burn fat in the nightโ€ฆ.

  7. Well 40 subjects do not speak for a significant study ... If I evaluate the study with another hypothesis test or ANOVA, I will probably get a different result ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. Ok, 40 subjects, but don't understand how that should not be meaningful, and I worked for a market research institute for five years.

    First take a look at the study and, above all, the exact results ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Well as I said, I doubt that antioxidants are of any use to athletes, with extreme high-performance athletes it can easily turn into the opposite!

    And nothing against you, didn't want to attack you or something, just want to say that I see it differently because of my biochemical knowledge ...

    But eating fruit and vegetables is definitely not wrong, you just don't really need the ACE drink with a plus of antioxidants ๐Ÿ˜€
