This week was again busy. Course weekend with Roland Knoll and his team. Since the BTV youth team was present at the same time, we were able to organize a few practical exercises with the girls and boys. I got the first unit straight away. Alternative training: roller skiing. The fact that 100 years ago and still in GDR times, in my summer ski jumping training, I also skied roller skis, qualified me for this. At that time, of course, they looked different and were guaranteed to be made of steel 😉 Besides, I can only remember that we made every training session a competition and the last one had to clean everything up.
On Saturday I had very talented girls and boys in front of me, I have to say, only that we didn't complain that much back then. The rest of the weekend was mostly swimming, running and athletic training.
In addition, I went through all the chapters of the book again together with my editor Anna from spomedis Verlag. The printing process will begin next week so that it will be in stores everywhere by the end of November.
Accordingly, my training still looked modest, but that doesn't matter. I gave myself a total of three weeks to get back into regular training. My MTB ride with the Laufamholz boys on Thursday was remarkable. All seasoned MTB riders. I didn't even know that there were so many vertical meters in the immediate vicinity. But the most interesting were the descents where I was thrown 10 times on steep and slippery root and forest paths. I was also able to run smartly again on Friday, 4:19 on the aerobic threshold. That went faster than expected.

Because I've already been asked: T-shirt swimming is great strength training for the entire upper body swimming muscles, as it increases the resistance tremendously. But your technique should be quite good for that. Better to start with shorter distances in several series of 50-100 meters with a break in between than 500 meters in one go!
Why do I think strength-based swimming training is good? Most of us will no longer become “technically beautiful” swimmers. Many started late or didn't spend enough time in the water. Triathlon swimming doesn't have to be nice to be fast. If you have enough strength and endurance, you can swim for 3.8km in less than 50 minutes by beating the water all the time. Nevertheless, technology always trumps power in the water!
nice start to the week!
