In the last few weeks I have made the following observation on myself and found it so effective that I will share it with you right away.
One of the big problems with swimming triathletes is stiff ankles. Constant running training limits the range of motion of the ankle. As a result, it is not stretched when swimming, but rather stands, which in turn makes the entire leg kick inefficient and slow. This makes some swim in place or even backwards if they tried to just kick their legs 😉
You've probably seen it before.
It is especially bad if you ran at some point before swimming.
If you now right away Extend your ankles extensively before swimming, this will significantly improve your kick, you can straighten your ankles much easier and swim faster. Since then, I sit briefly on the bench before every swim and stretch. It is easiest if you just sit on your lower legs for 2-3 minutes. If you lean slightly backwards with your upper body, you increase the stretch.
bang in!
