Competition report Duathlon Ansbach

Today we went to the Duathlon in Ansbach in really fantastic conditions. A well organized race with a route that is tough! Duathlon is much harder than a triathlon of the same distance.

Here the Results!

The first run of almost 10km was still quite pleasant. I ran together with two of my athletes Michael Seitz and Marco Krischdat. After about 35 minutes we switched to 14-16, lying on the bike. There it went straight to the point. After a kilometer already the local mountain, which we climbed a total of five times in the further course. Although only a small stitch of 70 HM, but every time after 8km it came back.

At some point on the fourth lap, my buddy Christoph Schwerdt, actually “just” a cyclist, overtook me. With his overbike he hammered the fastest bike split of the day onto the asphalt and left me panting on the mountain. After 41km and five laps, I switched to the last five kilometers as 10th.

It stayed with the placement until the end, and after the work was done I could finally devote myself to the buffet.

All in all, I'm happy with the result, as I'm not quite unencumbered in the race either. Of course, I was even more pleased to see that three of my athletes were in the top 10, all in front of me! maybe I shouldn't do it so quickly, otherwise I won't have a chance at all soon 😉

So congratulations to Michael Seitz 3rd, Marco Krischdat 9th and Daniel Bräunlein 8th (SD), and Marco Eckstein, Dominique Thalhammer, Patrick Hupka and Stefan Zessinger did very well.

nice start to the week!
